Joshua Martin

I am excited to share and celebrate a wonderful honor for our own Joshua (Josh) Martin.

Josh has been appointed by Governor Ned Lamont to serve on the newly established Blue-Ribbon Commission on K–12 Education Funding and Accountability — a statewide commission charged with reviewing and helping shape the future of public school funding in Connecticut.

This is an extraordinary recognition of Josh’s expertise, leadership, and deep commitment to students, particularly in the area of special education and student support services. At a time when districts across Connecticut are navigating increasingly complex educational, operational, and financial realities, it speaks volumes that East Granby will have a voice at this important table.

What makes this especially meaningful is that Josh will help represent the perspective of smaller public school districts like ours — districts that are innovative, deeply student-centered, and often asked to do more with less. His experience working directly with students, families, and staff gives him a practical and compassionate lens that will undoubtedly contribute to these statewide conversations in important ways.

I also appreciate Josh’s recognition that this work is an extension of his service to East Granby. His appointment creates an important bridge between our local experiences and state-level policy discussions that may shape education funding and accountability for years to come.

Please join me in congratulating Josh on this well-deserved honor. We are incredibly fortunate to have his leadership in East Granby Public Schools, and I know he will represent our community with thoughtfulness, integrity, and care.

I wanted to take a moment to publicly congratulate him and share how proud we are to have his leadership here in East Granby.

Congratulations, Josh!

Warmly,

Suzanne M. Palmieri
