Welcoming Our New District IT Systems and Operations Manager
Dear East Granby Public Schools Community,
I am pleased to announce that Brian White has joined East Granby Public Schools as our new District IT Systems and Operations Manager.
Brian brings extensive experience in information technology, systems administration, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technical operations. His career has included supporting complex technology environments and more than 200 enterprise applications used by thousands of people. His experience spans a broad range of platforms and systems, including Windows, Linux, Unix, mainframe, virtualized and cloud environments, servers, networking, voice, and web-based technologies.
Prior to joining East Granby Public Schools, Brian held technology roles with Aetna/CVS Health and worked as an Independent Technology Consultant, providing technology services to commercial and multi-million-dollar businesses. At Aetna, he provided second-level technical support to thousands of end users, managed system access and security, supported hardware and software deployments, and developed troubleshooting guides and end-user documentation to improve service and efficiency.
As an independent consultant, Brian provided hands-on technology leadership to businesses, evaluating their needs and recommending practical, cost-effective solutions. His experience also includes working closely with infrastructure, security, quality assurance, application, and vendor teams to strengthen system reliability, security, and collaboration.
What makes Brian particularly well suited for East Granby Public Schools, however, is that his approach to technology goes well beyond the systems themselves. He understands that technology exists to serve people.
Throughout his career, he has emphasized the importance of listening to those who depend on technology, understanding their needs, communicating clearly, and finding practical solutions. He recognizes that effective technology support is not simply about keeping systems running—it is about building trust and helping people successfully do their work.
This philosophy aligns closely with our district’s commitment to having a “service heart.” Patience, respect, empathy, and a genuine willingness to help have guided Brian throughout his professional career and community involvement. His experience as a baseball umpire and flag football referee has also given him opportunities to work with young people while developing strong communication skills, sound judgment, fairness, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
In his new role, Brian will work closely with our staff and district leadership to ensure that our technology systems remain secure, reliable, effective, and responsive to the needs of our schools. He will support our day-to-day technology operations while also helping the district thoughtfully plan for future technology needs and opportunities.
We are excited to welcome Brian to East Granby Public Schools. His extensive experience, technical expertise, collaborative spirit, and commitment to service will be tremendous assets to our district.
Please join me in welcoming Brian White to our school community. We look forward to the contributions he will make in supporting our students, staff, and schools.
Warmly,
Suzanne Palmieri
Superintendent of Schools
